So…my thesis is submitted.
The thesis I’ve been working on diligently for two years…the thesis that has offered me wonderful opportunities to meet others who share my interests as well as talking to others about my research – has been submitted.
I’m not out of the woods yet. I’m not preparing for the final part of my Master’s journey – the oral examination/thesis defense. I’m taking a break this week to clear my head (it’s amazing how mushy it can get when you’re working to finish the project at breakneck speed) and then I’ll spend all the time I can prepping for the defence.
It hardly seems real. There was a time when I didn’t think I would finish in two years. Now, there is a strong possibility that I will.
Because I’m not out of the woods yet, it’ll be a little bit before I can devote myself fully to writing about magical girls. Once the revisions have been done and I can upload my thesis onto my university website, I can go about writing a version for this site. I’m going to see about hiring artists to add a vivid element to this project. I hope to have the first chapter up by September, so stay tuned for that! Thank you for your patience.
I also plan to self-publish books about my research! I’ve been wanting to do this for a while, but I wanted to write my thesis first. I plan to write about various subjects, including a condensed form of my research, a book about Alice in Wonderland in anime and manga, and hopefully a book about Madoka Magica. I plan to have these written and published for sale on the convention circuit by January 2018.
If you have enjoyed what you’ve seen here on Maho Shojo Gakuen and you wish to support my mission of bringing quality content related to magical girl series, please considering buying me a “Ko-Fi” at http://ko-fi.com/majokkomisu.
I will try to update a bit more before going into hermit mode to prepare for my thesis defence. Thank you for your continued support! And thank you for sticking by me, even when I couldn’t post!
