About Little Witch Academia TV

If life is what happens when you’re busy making plans, then I definitely blame life for my issues with “Little Witch Academia”.

I was really excited when it was announced that “Little Witch Academia” would be getting a TV series.  I’m still excited that it’s here.  I’ve been watching the series faithfully every week (except when I went to ECCC, because BUSY), and I’m aware of what’s going on.

But I don’t really have a lot to say about it now.  That’s not necessarily a bad thing.

Okay, I have one thing to say about it – it’s a cute slice-of-life series that further cements Trigger as the king of references and the characters are all adorable.

But this is not the kind of series that I would sit down and look at with an analyzing eye.  It’s just too – sweet.  Even if Diana and her goons bug the hell out of me.  Even if it seems like Akko, Lotte, and Sucy are always doing the entire school’s laundry every week.  Even if Akko still sucks at magic and can’t ride a broom.

This is the kind of series that you just sit down and appreciate and let go.  I just want to watch Little Witch Academia.  I don’t want to analyze it or review it at all.  I just want to take it in like Lotte takes in night fall.

I’m really picky about the kinds of series that I watch, so I have no idea when I’ll be reviewing again.  To be honest, Magical Girl Raising Project was fun to review because it was so bloody (literally) insane and Brave Witches because it was fan service packaged as a magical girl anime (probably why I couldn’t finish it).  But this show is different in that I watch it with a sweet smile on my face and then I go on about my day.

That being said, there are some questions I hope are address…

  • Will Akko ever be able to ride a broom on her own?
  • Will she ever not end the day washing laundry or doing some other punishment?
  • Does Professor Ursula stalk Akko all day?
  • Is Lotte about to have a boyfriend?
  • Will Akko eventually hook up with Andrew (Please, Please, Please, Please…)
  • Is Akko more powerful than we imagined?
  • Will Diana and her girl squad ever end up with egg on their face (please please please)

Time will tell.  In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the series and I hope I find one to review for you soon!
